Desislava Kirilova from the Vocational School for Textile and Tourism “St. Ivan Rilski” – Pernik is the winner of the Culinary Contest “I am the best chef ever”. The contest is organized by the DOMINO Project and the Swiss Education Group (SEG) for students of the DOMINO education classes for cooks in Stara Zagora, Burgas, Pernik and Dobrich.
Dessy will have the unique opportunity to attend the course “Introducing the world of the culinary” of the Culinary Arts Academy – Switzerland. Kostadin Dzhardov from Burgas, the second prize will have two-day participation in the Doors Open event of the Swiss Education Group in Switzerland. Two girls – Halime Krali from Burgas and Iveta Alexandrova from Pernik will be awarded with the culinary book and a cooking apron of the Museum of the world-renowned Swiss chef Anton Mosimann. The awards were allotted by the Swiss Education Group.
30 students from the vocational schools-part of DOMINO in Stara Zagora, Burgas, Pernik and Dobrich took part in the first stage of the Contest, launched in early March: writing an essay “The pleasure to cook for others”. The shortlisted 11 were challenged with a production of a short video clip “My restaurant”.
„We are impressed by the huge enthusiasm of each participant in our contest and hope to see them in a couple of years as famous chefs of their dream restaurants”, says Goran Yordanov,Regional Manager Eastern Europe at Swiss Education Group. „We plan to invite all 11 finalists to one-day training in a popular cooking academy, Sofia partner of the Culinary Arts Academy – Switzerland”, adds Petya Evtimova, DOMINO team leader.
The winners will receive their awards at an official ceremony by the end of June. Taking into consideration of interest in the professional occupation of a cook, SEG and DOMINO consider a second edition of the culinary contest in 2018. The project has an idea to organize contest for the DOMINO- students in various professional occupations.
